WHY: Eggs, Paws and Claws is an event that celebrates the beginning of spring with
14 treat stations, kid friendly entertainment and seasonally themed animal enrichment activities.
The animal enrichment activity during Eggs, Paws and Claws is an egg hunt for the Zoo’s animals. The schedule is as follows:
11 a.m. Prevost Squirrel/Porcupine Bob and Evelyn’s Roadhouse
11 a.m. Tree Kangaroos Bob and Evelyn’s Roadhouse
11 a.m. Civet Bob and Evelyn’s Roadhouse
11 a.m. Elephants Pachyderm Building
11:30 a.m. Water Monitor Asia Quest
12 p.m. Bobcats North America
1 p.m. Brown Bear North America
1 p.m. Black Bear North America
1:30 p.m. Gorillas African Forest
2 p.m. My Barn North America
2 p.m. Komodo Dragons Australia
2:30 p.m. Leopard African Forest
2:30 p.m. Colobus Monkeys African Forest
2:45 p.m. Mandrills African Forest
3 p.m. Bonobos African Forest
In addition to all of the springtime fun, guests can visit the Bunny and special appearances will be made by Pablo from the Backyardigans. Character Caravans and Patriot & Pablo’s Party at Jungle Jack’s Landing will both be held several times throughout the day.
The Zoo’s Ride region, Jungle Jack’s Landing, will open for the season with buy on get one ride wristbands for a limited time only.
Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is open 363 days a year 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. after Labor Day. General admission is $12.99 for adults, $7.99 for children ages 2 to 9 and seniors 60+. Children under 2 and Columbus Zoo members are free.
