Powell, OH – In the spirit of spring, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium will host Eggs, Paws and Claws featuring Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, a two-day celebration of the season, on Friday, April 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Children of all ages can hop to more than 20 treat stations located throughout the Zoo, have their pictures taken with the Bunny, watch our animals hunt for eggs and see Aqua-Bunny swim down the coral trail of Discovery Reef.
Don’t forget the camera for a special character ambassador meet and greet following the famous Character Carrot Caravan. Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Polly Polar Bear, Patriot Eagle and the rest of the crew will cruise through the Zoo in their carrot carts before stopping to take pictures and meet guests.
Those attending Friday’s Eggs, Paws and Claws event can kick things off early at the Bob Evans Train re-dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony in the Zoo’s North America region from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Dale Schmidt, president and CEO of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and Mike Townsley, president of BEF Foods, Inc., will lead the ceremony that includes appearances by Zoo character ambassadors, Bob Evans’ mascots Biscuit and Gravy, samples from the new Taste of the Farm Bob Evans bakery and more.
The schedule of events is as follows:
- Bob Evans Train re-dedication Friday: 1:30 to 3 p.m.; ribbon cutting at 2:30 p.m.
- Aqua Bunny Friday: 6 p.m. Saturday: 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- Egg hunt for our animals Friday: 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- Character carrot caravan Friday: 6 and 7:15 p.m. Saturday: 10:45 a.m., 12:15 and 1:45 p.m.
- Character ambassador meet and greet Friday: 4:45, 5:30, 6:45 and 8 p.m. Saturday: 10 and 11:30 a.m., 1, 2:30 and 4 p.m.
