Zoofari Celebrates 40 Years of Food, Music and Fun

Powell, OH – Be a part a of the largest party at the Zoo as you enjoy food and drink from Columbus area restaurants while supporting the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium’s annual fundraiser, Zoofari, on Saturday, June 19, 2010 from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

             The festivities will include samplings of cuisine and libations from over 90 Columbus area restaurants and bars and music throughout the Zoo including two headliners, The Menus and Dueling Pianos from the Big Bang bar.

             In addition to the food and entertainment the Zoo will also hold a raffle. Raffle tickets will be sold before and during the event. This year’s raffle prizes include trips to your favorite local restaurants including $5,000 worth of Kroger gift cards and 10 secondary cards of $100 each.

             Tickets for Zoofari are $95 if purchased by June 9; $115 after June 9 and $150 the day of Zoofari. Individuals looking for the VIP treatment can purchase a VIP ticket for $200. VIP tickets include program recognition, free valet parking and special access to three VIP areas throughout the event including admission to the VIP Polar Pre-Party at the all new Polar Frontier that starts at 6:30 p.m.

 *Special Note: Due to Zoofari setup on Saturday, June 19, the Zoo will close at 3 p.m.

Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is open 363 days of the year 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Memorial Day weekend and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.  General admission is $12.99 for adults, $7.99 for children ages 2 to 9 and seniors 60+.  Children under 2 and Columbus Zoo members are free.  The Zoo was named the #1 Zoo in America by USA Travel Guide and is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA.)  For more information and to purchase advance Zoo admission tickets, visit www.columbuszoo.org
