Health Care Program
To help protect the gorillas from contacting human diseases, PIC is collaborating with the Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project to fund a health care program for more than 200 trackers and park guards (and their wives) who work in Rwanda.

Caring for Confiscated Gorillas
Between 2003 and 2007, 10 young mountain gorillas have been confiscated from poachers along the Rwandan/Congo border. PIC is funding the MGVP salaries for around-the-clock Rwandan caregivers for the little gorillas. The goal of this program is to help ensure the infants’ physical development and their physcological well being that will help prepare the young gorillas for reintroduction to the wild.
